Saint-Petersburg Exchange
- Nonprofit Partnership Stock Exchange "Saint-Petersburg" was created in April 1997 for the purpose of organizing securities trading. The partnership became the first licensed stock exchange in Russia.
- In 1998, Nonprofit Partnership Stock Exchange "Saint-Petersburg" became one of the four trading floors authorized to organize trading in stocks of Gazprom.
- The derivatives market created by Saint-Petersburg Exchange was the only derivatives market that survived the financial crisis of 1998 without a single suspension of trading or default. On its basis FORTS, the leading Russian derivatives market, was developed. In 2001, FORTS was purchased by RTS Stock Exchange. Since 2009, FORTS has been ranked by the FIA among the TOP 10 leading global derivatives markets in terms of trading volume.
- To facilitate further development of the business, in January 2009 the partnership was restructured into Open Joint Stock Company "Saint-Petersburg Exchange". Whereby all the partnership members became shareholders of Saint-Petersburg Exchange (SPBEX).
- Starting from February 2011, Saint-Petersburg Exchange and Moscow Exchange (RTS Stock Exchange at that time) have been working together on a project to develop on-exchange trading in futures contracts on commodities at Saint-Petersburg Exchange.
- Currently Saint-Petersburg Exchange is the only Russian stock exchange where Gazprom shares are listed.
Saint-Petersburg Exchange holds the following licenses:
- stock exchange license No.078-10457-000001 issued by the FFMS on August 02, 2007;
- license of on-exchange trading organizer No.96 issued by the Commission on Commodity Exchanges of the Ministry for Antimonopoly Policy and Support of Entrepreneurship of the Russian Federation on June 13, 1998.
